Evinrude Updates
The 8/15/2025 Evinrude price updates are available for download.
This is a minor price file change as far as prices go.
There are some big supersede price changes and 289 more parts became N/A this month.

This part changed from a competitive part with a 40% profit margin to a captive part with a 25% profit margin this month.
The retail price did not change: $ 331.48 last month and this month.
Last month, full line dealers and PAC dealers could both buy this part from Evinrude for $198.89;
This month, full line dealers would pay $198.89 and PAC dealers would pay $248.61.
Evinrude pricing is complex.
There are 4 dealer types:
TYPE Description

FULL Full Line Dealers that buy & sell alot of new Evinrude engines
SO Service Only Dealers that just buy & sell alot of Evinrude parts
PKG Package Dealers that buy a boat brand that packages with Evinrude engines
PAC PAC Parts, Accessories, and clothing. Smaller parts dealers.
Note 1: At times, OMC / Evinrude was interested in signing up small shops to be PAC dealers. This changed through the years.
Note 2: Since Evinrude stopped making engines, the definition of a "FULL LINE" dealer does not make much sense.
Note 3: Evinrude has a line of competitive parts called SysteMatched that they will sell through distributors, usually at a 40% discount.

Note 1: Discount code " " (blank) and discount code "H" are the same.
Note 2: The discounts in the "SO' and "PKG" columns have always been the same.
Note 3: " " is the most common discount for engine parts. "M" is the most common for accessories.
The other piece of the puzzle is that every part has an "Alternate Discount" code, sometimes called the "Captive" flag:

If it is "*" then this is a captive part and Evinrude does not have much competition from the aftermarket for this part.
If it is " " (blank) then this means there is aftermarket competition and Evinrude will give the FULL discount to all dealer types.
This "Captive" flag is what changed for part# 5012370 between July 2025 and August 2025.
For full line dealers, this change does not make a difference.
Huggins supports a variety of computer programs and some support the Evinrude Dealer Types and some do not.
In the "E/J H" program, there is a setup option you can get to by pressing F9 that will allow you to change your dealer type.
This complexity is yet another reason why a marine dealer has trouble doing accurate cost accounting.

Two of these parts were sold through distributors to non dealers under the SysteMatched brand.
SysteMatched brand is supposed to be for fast moving Evinrude parts with aftermarket competition.
These two parts are available from several aftermarket companies.

The Stock Locator contains over 400,000 parts from over 40 dealers.
Maintenance on Evinrude, Johnson, and OMC stern drives is getting challenging as time goes by.
This month there are 36 more parts that you cannot buy from Evinrude.
You can go on a scavenger hunt and find some of those from other dealers that have agreed to help.
You should consider an extra warning to Evinrude service customers.
WARNING: Certain Evinrude parts are not available.
You might choose to collect a disassembly fee for Evinrude service jobs in case the job cannot be completed.
Extra labor might be needed to complete an Evinrude service job because of the parts situation.
This is a real warning to you the dealer: Do not get stuck with an Evinrude that cannot be repaired.
As much as you might love Evinrude, you cannot fix an engine if you cannot get the right parts.

You might see "Checkout as guest" or "Pay with credit or debit card" as an option on the bottom of one of the PayPal screens. There IS a way to just use your card. You do not have to use PayPal. If you use the "Buy Now" button and pre-pay, your phone call to Huggins will be alot simpler. Huggins no longer needs to know your credit or debit card numbers. The credit card industry would prefer if you entered your card number directly into the payment screen like we have setup for you. If you follow the "Return to merchant" link after payment, you can get the new password online.
